Welcome!
The Delaware Valley Iris
Society is proud to present this iris show to all! The Delaware Valley Iris Society (DVIS) is an affiliate of the
American Iris Society. DVIS is composed of iris enthusiasts of all ages and all
walks of life. DVIS promotes the enjoyment of iris through many different ways
- a few of which are: group meetings, garden tours, iris rhizome
sales, public iris shows and just plain "iris talk". DVIS wishes to thank
all of you who either participated or visited our show!!
We would encourage all of
you to partake in membership of both societies. Please stop by our hospitality table for additional information
on American Iris Society and Delaware Valley Iris Society memberships, DVIS scheduled
events and free handouts on iris culture.

GENERAL RULES
Entries will be received at The Tyler Arboretum, Saturday, May 24, 2008 between 7:30 AM and 9:30AM.
Judging will begin at
10:00 AM, Saturday, May 24th.
This is a
variety/cultivar show. Each variety and species will be judged as a separate
class.
Judging will be against a
"standard of perfection" for each variety.
All irises must have been
grown, groomed and entered in person by the exhibitor (except
Division II - Seedlings)
and the variety name must be known.
Exhibitors may make as
many entries in each of the divisions as desired but only one specimen per
variety (except Division 1 - Section I - Collections).
Containers for the
specimens will be furnished by Delaware Valley Iris Society.
All entries must be
accompanied by an entry card which has been properly filled out. Entry cards
will be provided at the show. Both top and bottom must be completed. Failure to
do so may disqualify the entry. (Blank entry cards may be obtained prior to the
show from the Show Chairperson.)
Once entries are ready,
they are to be delivered to the placement table.
Show committee persons
will then place the entries on the show tables.
Unnamed or incorrectly
named specimens will be placed in Division V - Unidentified Iris.
Exhibitors under age 19
may elect to enter the show as either "Youth" or "Adult" but not both.
Only judges, clerks and
necessary show officials will be allowed in the exhibition areas during
judging.
Entries will be judged by
accredited judges of the American Iris Society.
This show is conducted
under the exhibition rules and regulations of the American Iris Society. These
rules may not be violated. Decisions of the judges are final.
Judges may not enter any
exhibit in any section that they will be judging.
The Show Chairperson may
combine small sections where appropriate.
No entry may be removed
before 4:00 PM. All entries must be removed between 4:00 - 4:30 PM.
Entries not claimed by
the exhibitor will be disposed of at the discretion of the Show Committee.
Responsibility is
disclaimed for loss or damage to entries by the Delaware Valley Iris Society,
the American Iris Society and the Tyler Aboretum. Reasonable care will be
afforded all entries by the Show Committee.
